Matching you with your puppy

Puppies are not appliances or cars and shouldn’t be sold as if they were. Here at Forge Labradors, we’ve tried to change that approach to help you end up with the puppy who’s meant to be in your home. The only exception to this process is that we get first pick of all puppies in the litter.
The first clues to which puppy will be yours reveal themselves in the questionnaire we ask you to fill out once you tell us you’re interested in getting a Forge puppy. Your answers tell us not only the sex and color you want, but also the physical characteristics and temperament that matter to you. I take your answers and start a small notebook with that information in it. To that notebook, I add my observations of the puppies available in your sex and color choices. By the time those puppies are about a month old, I’m beginning to see a few puppies who match up well with what’s important to you. Because we have kept on our puppy cam for much of that month, you too are noticing some of what we are noticing.
At seven weeks, we give each puppy the Volhard Puppy Temperament Test, which cements those observations and tells us unequivocally the puppy meant to go home with you the following week. We have not placed a puppy incorrectly by using this process.
So, your place on our waiting list does not in any way determine the puppy you’ll get. All that matters is a good match in temperament and physical traits so that your life will be enriched and the puppy’s life will be the best that it can be.
If you're interested in a Forge Labrador puppy please fill out our questionnaire and email it us. Thanks!
